Starship Technologies announces new suite of improvements which allow for greater interruption of pedestrian traffic.

Reassuring students, faculty, and the OSU Community as Starship prepares for the 2023-24 academic year. Starship Technologies announced it will be coming out with a new suite of updates which provide their food delivery robots with greater autonomy when it comes to blocking campus sidewalks, particularly for those with movement related disabilities and in wheelchairs. “We take great pride in the ability of our food delivery robots to make navigation of OSU’s sidewalks a massive pain in the ass, we are particularly proud of our robots ability to remain directly in front of the path of wheelchair users, slowing to a crawl to limit the wheelchair users mobility, but we can always do more. We will be releasing a suite of updates that allow the robots to move at a significantly lower speed, to more effectively turn directly into the paths of pedestrians, and will allow two or more robots to move side by side, allowing for the blocking of the wider walkways on Oregon State Universities campus.” Said a company spokesperson.
