President Murthy: Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action unlikely to impact OSU's "admit every student with a pulse" policy

Oregon State University sent out an all student email Thursday morning, reassuring students that a recent supreme court ruling blocking affirmative action policies will not impact OSU’s admissions process. “OSU does not really have any standards, we aren’t currently in a place where we can consider external factors like race, socioeconomic status, or merit when considering who we admit to Oregon State University.” Commenting on OSU’s hiring practices, which are not subject to the recent court ruling, the president had this to say: “We are still prioritizing the hiring of upper middle class white women for all administrative positions, nothing will change that”.
