Student Debt Relief Strikedown Will not Affect University Policy of Raising Tuitition Every Year

Commenting after significant student outreach, as the student debt forgiveness strikedown which has the potential to impact tens of thousands of Oregon State Students is clearly not as important as the Affirmative Action strikedown which impacts approximately none, Steve Clark, University VP of Relations and Marketing had this to say “We are going to continue with business as usual, we will continue to work with state and federal officials to seek funding for our capital construction initiatives, and hope student advocates continue to fight on their own for more state and federal financial assistance.”

OSU Board of Trustees Chair and Real Estate Corporation CEO, who is acutely aware of the cost of living crisis impacting students today, announced no plans to address the ever rising cost of tuition. “While it is disappointing that University priorities continue to contribute to student hunger and housing insecurity, we only have so many resources to dedicate towards students, and most of those need to be going to new buildings, so we plan to continue with our yearly tuition hikes.”
